Hidden in a tranquil corner of Tanzania's Kilimanjaro Region, Kikuletwa Hot Springs (also known as Chemka or Maji Moto) is a natural geothermal oasis ideal for relaxing and rejuvenating. The site features crystal-clear, turquoise water emerging from underground caverns, set amid tropical vegetation and dramatic fig and palm tree roots. Though called “hot”, the water is pleasantly warm—around 27 °C (81 °F)—and offers a refreshing contrast to the dry landscape

Itinerary: Kikuletwa Hot Springs Day Tour

• Morning Pickup: Depart from Moshi or Arusha early (around 9:00–10:00 AM). You’ll drive first on paved roads, then on a scenic dirt track through sugar cane fields, baobabs, acacia scrubland, and Maasai villages
• Arrival & Orientation: Arrive at the springs after about 1–2 hours. Receive a brief introduction and change into swimwear if needed.
• Swimming & Relaxation: Enjoy swimming, floating, or diving into the deep, clear water (up to 6–10 meters depth), often with stunning underwater visibility
• Rope Swing & Snorkeling: Try the rope swing or snorkel—masks are available to rent on site to explore the underwater world more fully .
• Natural Spa Experience: Let Garra Rufa “doctor fish” nibble gently on your feet—natural exfoliation in soft, crystal-clear water .
• Picnic Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch beneath tropical trees or by the water’s edge—ideal for resting or sunbathing.
