This full-day safari takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and ecologically diverse parks. Located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and just 2–2.5 hours from Arusha, the park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, diverse birdlife, and tree-climbing lions.
Despite its compact size, Lake Manyara offers an impressive range of habitats—dense woodlands, open grasslands, acacia groves, and the alkaline lake itself. It is home to large troops of baboons, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, buffalo, and giraffes, along with over 400 bird species including flamingos, pelicans, and storks.

Itinerary: Lake Manyara National Park Day Safari

• Morning: Depart early from Arusha or Moshi after breakfast. Drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approx. 2–2.5 hours from Arusha / 4 hours from Moshi). Arrive at the park gate, complete entry formalities, and begin your safari.
• Safari Game Drive: Explore the varied landscapes of the park—from the evergreen forest filled with baboons and blue monkeys to the open plains and shores of the lake, where flamingos and hippos can be seen. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, and possibly the famous tree-climbing lions.
• Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the scenic picnic sites within the park, often with views over the lake or under a canopy of fig trees.
• Afternoon: Continue your game drive in the southern part of the park or along the escarpment before heading back to Arusha or Moshi in the late afternoon.
